Build the tools for people to create the life they truly desire

The Challenge

We aimed to launch in 3 months and I had 3 high level goals:

  1. Gather insights about the types of users who gain the most value from the product.

  2. Test early designs and value assumptions to inform the product design.

  3. Define Envision’s brand.

User Research

Who are our users and why will they care about the product?

We kicked this off by speaking to 30 potential users via interviews and surveys, finding two core groups where the needs seemed to be greatest:

Prototype Testing

Testing our assumptions:

  • Value: How effective is visualisation for solving user needs?

  • Target users: What are the strongest needs among our users?

  • Usability: Is the user able to figure out how to use it?

  • Feasibility: How complicated might the solution be to build?

  • Business viability: How likely are the users to pay for it and how costly might it be to build?

To get as much user data about the app as possible I focused our efforts across 3 activities:

  1. User feedback surveys

  2. User interviews and in person app testing

  3. App analytics across retention, conversion and engagement

As the user data came back certain patterns began to emerge. I used these learning to identify the major areas of user and business value to work towards.
